CCSD TO OPEN NEW FACILITIES

Burns Elementary

Capital Programs will be opening the following facilities this summer

Edmund A. Burns, Matilda F. Dunston, and Stono Park Elementary School will open their doors to students in grades K – 5 for the 2019 – 2020 academic school year.

All three schools were funded by a “Yes” vote of the Charleston County Education Sales and Use Tax Referendum of 2010 and 2014. The construction of each facility came in at budget and were completed on time.

All three buildings are two story, state-of-the-art facilities designed to seat 500 students in grades k-5.

In addition, Moultrie Middle School underwent an expansion featuring nine general classrooms and 3 science labs.

Standard project information is available at this link:https://www.ccsdschools.com/divisions/operations/capital_programs

CLEAR BAG POLICY

Be ClearIn an effort to increase security and provide students, parents, staff, and community members with a safer experience at athletic events, Charleston County School District (CCSD) is instituting the “clear bag or no bag” entry procedure for all football and basketball games this school year. CCSD piloted this initiative last year for Wando High School football games at the District 2 Regional Stadium.  Read more
